Sniper I
Introduction
This course is designed for law enforcement or military operators assigned as a sniper. Students attending this course must be proficient with marksmanship fundamentals to include cold bore shot placement, ballistics, range acquisition, effects of weather, and holds / leads for moving targets. The student should know their rifle adjustments for ranges up to 800 yards. The sniper 1 course is designed to teach field craft techniques. Time will not be taken to teach students marksmanship fundamentals. The focus on field craft allows the proficient and well trained marksman to develop the skills necessary to become an operational sniper. Students must pass a final written exam and a final field exercise to receive a certificate of completion.
Classes
Classroom material will consist of sniper / observer dialogue, techniques of observation, techniques of camouflage, stalking and individual movement, field sketches, hide construction, KIMS, and selection and occupation of positions.Equipment
Equipment needed for the class will consist of a rifle, binocular, spotting scope, pack, rear shooting bag, ghillie suit, eye and ear protection, bdu top and bottom, hat, gloves, and ammunition.| < Prev | Next > |
